Hotel Kaiserhof
As I walked past the Kaiserhof on my way home today, I noticed that renovation work had apparently begun there. An excavator was working on the property behind the building, flattening everything. Two workers were busy on the facade. The wooden shed at the entrance had been removed and a banner had been put up by the Johanning company from Vlotho, which has taken over the project.
The former hotel was largely destroyed by fire in 2011. The roof truss and half-timbering were then rebuilt and the roof was covered. However, nothing else has happened since then. The building has been a listed historical monument since 1983.
